Ohio Wins Big With Yes To Both Abortion And Marijuana

It was a massive voter turnout last night as people went to the polls in droves. Election staff almost needed an extension due to nearly running out of ballots, according to one poll worker we interviewed. Luckily it ended up not resorting to that and the polls closed at their usual time of 7:30 PM EST. They were able to call it around 9:00 PM when it became clear that both the abortion measure the the marijuana measure passed – a huge win for democrats.

Both policies are good for the State of Ohio. Abortion rights ensure women regained their rights that the Supreme Court took away, and the marijuana bills comes with a 10% tax on top of sales tax – money that will go towards public safety, road improvements, drug treatment and prevention and investments into communities “disproportionately impacted by Ohio’s marijuana policy,” according to petitioners. These victories will reverberate throughout the state for years to come, showing that the average citizen in Ohio cares about freedom over conservative control.
